    • .198 was paid out in May. They pay out once a year. You'll have to wait until next year and expect the dividend to be no more than it was in May.

Keep in mind the Government controls the electric prices and told the company to reduce the customers utility bills recently which was reflected in the reduction in the last dividend. The share holders paid for that decision.

When dealing in countries that are socialist controlled, businesses are held down in the effort to create an equal society. It will fall like the rest of that type of system as Europe has proved. But one thing to consider here with EBR is it may be worth the risk because like Cuba the leadership is very old in their ages..., so we could see a huge change if the people wake up and refuse to accept poverty as a norm. Like China, Brazil could benefit. When China's old guard died off, they moved to Capitalism or are moving that way and their growth is for the most part benefiting their people, brazil could go the same way. If the government would see the success China has, the new younger Brazilian government could be as successful. Time will tell, and that is what a share holder in EBR has to accept and if so it should IMHO be a good risk reward situation. All Brazil really needs is strong young leaders to step forward at the right time and a public desire to get out of poverty run government system. So much potential held back right now.
