    Justice Reed

Not all types of hazardous waste idiot. Hazardous
waste such as acidic waste can be treated (solidified)
with lime and disposed of in a sanitary landfill
legally (if I am not mistaken). In the Detroit news
article, they said some waste was treated with lime and
disposed of in a sanitary landfill. The Detroit news
article had a very negative tone to their landfill
dumping. Different hazardous waste requires different
    treatment and disposal.

When you throw out your old
D cell batteries and used oil filters, do you
package them and ship them DOT hazardous to the
appropriate facility, or do you dump them in the trash? The
D-Cells should not be dumped in the landfill. However, it
may be legal. Probably one of the many loopholes put
    in the regulations by industry.

    Since, that
Detroit article 2 weeks ago I have seen nothing else on
the matter except they found some PCBs in the
facility that were improperly sent to them by the
generator and they are taking care of it. The FBI and EPA
are investigating, did they find anything? The rest
of the story is not out.

    And with your
smartass post, I pray that you don't work for USL, the
EPA, or any other environmental company.
