What do you mean, I bought this at 41.67 last tues. and sold on wed for over 43.00. Now it's back down
again. I wonder if I should buy again tomorrow. I was in WTR today and sold for a gain and bought
HSH. The utilities were all up today, I wonder why the REITS weren't?
Why are you telling us what you bought and sold? What does your other investments have to do with HCP. Why don't you tell us what you are down in? Oh, you are such a wonder; we are all so envious. Please, tell us more about yourself.
Unfortunately this may be changing from a growth stock to a pure dividend play. At 5+% that may not be a bad thing but for sometime now it has appreciated a good bit. Personally I am trying to decide if I take money out of money market accounts and add to my HCP position. The amount they are paying is extremely low but the principal is safe. Buying more of this would be nice income but loss of principal is a real possibility.
I whole-heartedly agree with your statement, however, just think about how inflation is eating away at your "principal" in your money market account. The risk/reward arguement is something I'm having with myself here lately. However, at 28 years of age, I am willing to take a risk and begin initiating a position in HCP at these prices. I'm sure if I was 58, my outlook would be entirely different.
