my take is; as a supplier to the bigger techs, if their missing earnings it has to affect the suppliers. hope i'm wrong but have mentally prepared myself for a miss. still long nxpi and in it for the long run, seems like they have very good R & D.
More than 3/4 of their revenues are derived from Automotive, identification, infrastructure. far too many investors mistake NXP as simply a chip maker for tech companies.. yes NFC's a growing business for them. NFC is going to be HUGE. Nothing has changed there - we're just still on the ground floor. But in the meantime, infrastructure and ID are servicing companies looking to further cut costs. NXP's products fit this mold. Auto sales are on fire due to low interest rates. I see some nice tailwinds here. NFC chips in devices like the S3 (best phone I've ever owned!) are simply icing on the cake.. and if it takes a quarter or two for NFC to boost the bottom line, fine. It's happening folks - not an 'if' scenario... just 'when!' IMO patience here will be rewarded.
