On the mobile convention in Amsterdam both VISA and Mastercard indicated that NFC is on the tipping point.
VISA has 797.000 points where payment with nfc is accepted and 58 million cards distributed in Europe.
MC/Maestro has 500.000 accepting points and 100 million cards worldwide.
Marks&Spencer has 230.000 contactless payments with Visa weekly and more than 1.5 million contactless payments have been made on the London busses since december.
It's clear that NFC is adopted worldwide by leading companies and public organisations (transportation and others), but also by consumers. And this is only about contactless payments.
Even if NFC is only 5% of NXPs revenue at the moment, it will still count for some attractive growth.
