I work in the medical profession. I've seen a literal explosion in the number of Xarelto prescriptions.
Xarelto is a blood thinner that replaced generic coumadin (warfarin). The advantage is that Xarelto does not need any monitoring and is very easy to dose correctly. The disadvantage is that there is no way to reverse Xarelto in case of bleeding. Xarelto appears to be effectively "cheaper" then generic coumadin when factoring in the need to monitor coumadin levels. Xarelto is crushing other alternative blood thinning agents like pradaxa.
I expect to see massive growth for Xarelto, which should help the JNJ presciption segment achieve nice growth.
