THIS NEWS HAS NOT BEEN FORMALLY ANNOUNCED YET. This is a quote from Celsius's CFO, Jan Norelid, from the Redchip video interview he did on 6/25. (After registering, it's the 2nd of 2 interviews, about 4/5ths of the way through it). Enjoy.
7-Eleven has 7,750 stores in North America, and an additional 28,200 stores throughout the world.
Vitamin Shoppe has them for $1.99 per can but have some sort of sale going on for $1.74. This is a pretty reasonable price IMO for this. A store in Corpus Christi sold out their entire display case in two days after it got some news coverage.
It could be the test market price, I remeber when Red Bull was $2.99 a can. But it has come down since, I just have to wonder if Celsius itself gets and addtional revenue for such a high retail price, Unfortunatly, they are more than lilley selling it to 7-11 at a deep discount. But I will take the exposure anyday and it will sell at 7-11's its so much easer than seaching a whole Walgreens for the little disply way back in the store.
It just showed up in my 7-eleven in south florida, shelf placment was not bad, four rows from the bottom in the cooler with the red bull at top. the real shocker was the price, $2.99 per can. thats a higher price break than the GNC at $10.00 a 4 pak. I guess i will still have to go searching the Walgreens for the $5.99 4-pak with the $1.00 off cupon.
