For those of us hurting on the current price just think how many hundreds of millions Carl Icahn has lost through ownership of CVI; CVRR; and UAN. We all complain when he is doing good but now his losses are getting to that staggering level. I know I won't shed any crocodile tears for him but it still must be disconcerning for him when he realizes how much he has lost in the stock compared to what he previously had made.
CVI is the majorityr owner of both CVRR and UAN. Icahn bought most of CVI at or below $30.00 per share and together with $13.00+ dividends paid by CVI lowered his cost to approximately $16.00/per share. Hopefully; you have losses like that in your portfolio (just being smartass since I'm stuck in all three); but, the brilliant SOB need not hang his head down in shame as I do!!!!!!!!!!!
Just for "chuckles and grins" I went back on the Yahoo major holder list. Since it's high Carl Ichan has "lost" over $2.2 BILLION dollars! As you said, he still has made money but even a $2.2 BILLION decline is nothing to sneeze at!
That is a very good point but think of his greater losses if we were talking about a $72 a share level. He has still made tons of money (literally) but think about his "paper" losses from the high of $72 ...staggering!
