I have no idea or I'd be buying too! The charts and ratings don't look good, yet I like this company. The odd thing is how they produce fertilizer: coal, not nat. gas. This could be a problem rather than a plus. If you look at chart over a 2 year period you'll see a huge drop in price. Why? I don't know--yet.
The regular dividend is 0.75 cents per quarter, for a total payout of $3.00 per year. There have also been special non-recurring dividends of 5.50 and 6.50 declared earlier this year. There's no reason to expect more of those, but it's always possible.
2013 is the first year CVI paid dividends. Yahoo incorrectly says $3, but if you check "historical prices" you will see they paid out $13.50 already this year! I'm looking for an entry point, but I don't think the dividend is stable due to very high payout ratio.
