I follow the stock performance of four banks in central Pennsylvania. Northwest, Metro (METR), Fulton (FULT), and Susquehanna (SUSQ). Northwest is a well-managed bank. I have less confidence in the other three. Metro's management seems shady to me. Fulton and Susquehanna burned themselves on bad loans.
A chart comparing the 5-year performance of the four stocks tells the story. This chart includes the market melt-down of 07-08. NWBI declined less than the others and it has maintained a higher level of performance since then. Metro and Susquehanna have done the worst.
