It's interesting. Gannett skyrockets ... McClatchy skyrockets ... Media General skyrockets ... but the New York Times beats the street and does nothing and even drops some.
Eight cents a share (what it earned excluding tax gains and charges) beats the four cent expected loss. Is that the problem?
The "problem" is simple: NYT never got as CHEAP as GCI, LEE, and MNI. Look at how much each of the latter 3 was down from its multi-year high, and compare that to NYT.
