    Cheney Accidentally Shoots Fellow Hunte

    Ya can't make dis shit

Can you just imagine all the cover up scenarios if the guy died???
    Cheney Accidentally Shoots Fellow Hunter
Vice President Dick Cheney accidentally shot and wounded a companion during a weekend quail hunting trip in Texas, spraying the fellow hunter in the face and chest with shotgun pellets.
Harry Whittington, a millionaire attorney from Austin, was "alert and doing fine" in a Corpus Christi hospital Sunday after he was shot by Cheney on a ranch in south Texas, said Katharine Armstrong, the property's owner.

    • Sure, you move on anytime one of your idols screws the pooch. How "independent" of you. I am still laughing, and so is much of the sane world, at Cheney and his lame apologists.

    • Special dispensation, don't ya see.

I'm reminded of the time a telephone dude from long ago accidentally touched off a loaded (DUMB!) .270 deer rifle in the cab of his pickup. The bullet hit a spring in the seat, fragmented, and made little reversed dents in the truck's sheetmetal as the fragments tried to make their escape.

The next week Xerox copies (this was long before e-mail) of a notice went out announcing the taking of a trophy '75 Jimmy truck that field dressed out at 2,000 pounds.

Peace, amigo. Have a good week.

    • Could that be because you and those like you that seem to think this is still earth shaking news and an incident worthy of continuance have nothing better to contribute?

Laugh away, they say humor is good for a worried mind.

Regardless of anything else Cheney has done, or you think he has or hasn't done, this was an accident and even the participants have moved on. Perhaps you should as well.

    • I think that this accident was an example of how Cheney does things in general. Since most people believe that Cheney has been behind most of the major decisions made by the current administration, that explains everything.

    • I read he was using some fancy-pants EyeTalian shotgun, too! Hell, I thought that would surely be illegal in Texas!

    • The last US VP to shoot anybody was Aaron Burr, but I really don't give a flying frick about some GOP ass-kiss nearly getting wacked by his "benefactor." Sounds more like nature thinning the herd. Still, you are fairly selective in what you consider a "minor incident." Most people would consider being shot at considerably important. We are not nearly ready to put this gem away, as we have realized that the one thing Cheney hates more than anything else is to be laughed at. And we are laughing our asses off.

    • "Then how did he get there? "

If you recall the events, he never made it to the ferry. He "swam" to Edgartown. (some think a Boston Whaler stolen that night was used by Ted.)

    • "Baloney! They are not there to enforce the laws of Texas."

Very true, but being a law enforcement agency, they are not likely to participate in any cover up, especially a cover up of an accident!

How long were the police not allowed to talk to Cheney? Why weren't they allowed to talk to him?

Now, post a response that is not full of your suppositions of why this was being covered up.

    • Only to those that somehow think that not releasing the information sooner was somehow a criminal act. There is not guarantee to anyone, anywhere that information about what is considered 'news' has to be accomplished within a certain time frame.

And to further blame Bush for any of this is silly. He has lots on his plate for which be has earned the blame without adding this kind of crap.

In my mind this is a minor incident and will have no bearing on the way of the world or this nation. You seem to think it is an important event. I disagree, it has already been too long in having its day in the sun.

    • "And that is different than your opinion in what way. No matter what Cheney or any Republican does, you treat it with distaste and scorn"

It's different because the second part of your statement is patently false. I treat with "distaste and scorn" the actions of ANY disreputable, despicable politician (such as Teddy Kennedy). Unlike you and your rec-awarders, I have no bias toward either major party and in fact dislike them both equally. I'm opposed in principle (as George Washington was) to the very concept of political parties. That said, however, I have no problem recognizing the occasional good done by any politician regardless of party. With a few misgivings, I have an immense amount of respect for John McCain, for example. Hmmm... what was his party affiliation, again?

      ; )
