Has Ivan shifted monies from the landline side to Wireless and FTTP fios, mcip ect. that the plant is suffering? Doesn't this area get snowstorms and I mean snowstorms. Has Ivans downsizing and cost cutting caused this problem? Plant failures take out all services wireless and fiber along with that landline. In building the FTTP network didn't Ivan and the boys move people out of their home areas to put the FTTP to the large areas? Do you think the PSC's PUC's will be asking questions? Is this the first sign of trouble in VZ's plant? Makes one wonder what is happening elsewhere in VZ.
Quit your damned whining. You can not $uck with Mother Nature. Get real! Branches get heavy with snow.......duh...
This thread simply sucks........
Face the facts...Verizon is ahead of the competition with FiOs....quit your damn whining....
The storm in buffalo that caused so much damage was a result of large amounts of wet snow, compounded by the 30 to 40 mile hr. winds. I live in Erie, Pa about 80 miles from Buffalo. In the fall we often have severe winter storms that cause tremendous damage It is not the fault of Vz or the power companies for that matter. If you have 20 inches of wet smow on tree limbs that are full of leaves then add heavy wind gusts you have a recipe for wide scale damage. I can tell you that we here in Erie were lucky that that storm missed us by less than a couple of miles. I was fishing that morning and the wind was terrible.
Luck to all,
This was an unseasonal storm of very significant proportions. Are the service issues resulting therefrom a result of the alleged managerial decision folly to which you allude?
Thinking minds would say, "Probably not."
Bufflo gets snow! Is this more than they had in the past? Is this a record snowfall, no. What is the difference if it is OCT or FEB. Is the plant being maintained, that is the question. Northern NY has had this type of storm before what has changed? All I'm saying is are we cost shifting from wireless and fttp and leaving the landline plant to wither on the VZ grapevine and is this happening elsewhere? Ivans pruning for cost savings of workforce, managers and supplies may be costing VZ more that what he is saving for quarterly reports.
