The traditional union overhead for the union member or the company is better served when distributed to the worker through benefit options for the worker's future.
Unions were for the 1950s era. They do not make economic sense in the global economy.
The Union is protecting all the useless knuckle draggers that have been slothing around for the past 25-30 years. Some of the newly hired techs and junior techs that have more ambition and brains aren't getting much help from the Union. Also the Union is allowing management to move techs around without properly canvasing the jobs regardless of seniorority or qualifications.
the union sold out its new membership with the contract of 2003.Sure they grandfathered the existing members but extremely weakened the CWA for years to come if not forever.Look for company breakup in next few years.FIOSAND WIRELESS GOES THERE SEPERATE WAYS.Landlines and C.O.BYE BYE
I don't see where the company will kiss the COs good-bye. Fios is tethered to them. They might reduce floor space, but it is joined to the switch and cable vault. But technology marches on.............
Childish, is when some manager thinks he is hip by promoting The Global economy over his fellow Americans well being and providing corporations with slave labor. The only people who like 401ks are the Wall Street manipulators.
The unions keep Vz honest, sure there is some loss but not as much as there is in management, too many chiefs, not enough indians. Vz make cry poor, but don't let them fool you. Sure anyone can make an Excel(r) sheet they are losing money. Line loss equals bundles and more return. Look at this link http://investor.verizon.com/news/view.aspx?NewsID=863 , right from the source, things don't seem so bleak, that is unless they are talking to the unions.
They could if they weren't so corrupt. The problem with unions is they let anyone in. There is no quality control. 9 times out of 10 the rep is an FMLA abuser who never shows up for work.
