Never got an answer to my question? I know someone who works for Verizon and he said their contract is up soon and if verizon doesn't meet their demands they will strike. Is it wise to buy VZ now when a possible contract dispute is looming
"use it to MY benefit". That is exactly whats wrong with society and the American culture today, its all about me, me, me. We have negated exactly what had made us the great nation we are, or at the rate it's presently going, were.
"never had a strike before". There have been plenty of strike, the union outwitted the company in 2003, they stuck for 2 weeks in 2000, 17 weeks in 1989.
Do you just make up your information or just pick it out of thin air. I have never read so many posts full of misinformation. Makes me wonder how you people analyze the stocks you pick.
Just remember, when you have a reason to stand up for something, it makes the fight worth while.
That's bull, it's against the law...If you want to keep bitching about it, do something about it. Everything has to be disclosed publicly. If you let stuff like that happen in your area, it's a sad state of affairs. I know up my way it all for our good. And if you don't like the union...leave instead of leeching. Man it up and go.
Logically it would make no sense to have a strike. FIOS is obviously far superior to coax and the sub-par programming offered by the cable companies. With the big cities preparing to open this year with FIOS TV with all those customers waiting to jump to Vz, it would really be stupid to strike. However, as I've seen over the last 40 years, logic has never played into negotiations.
There will be much saber rattling during negotiations, but there will be no strike in 2008. Fios deployment is too critical. At a mall on Long Island Verizon has set up a kiosk demonstrating and selling FIOS. The activity at the kiosk is frenetic. Customers love it and VZ can't sell it fast enough. FIOS is in the process of blowing away the competition. This is fact, not hype!
