I hope additional years are worked into the final agreement. I believe that is the only way enough will take it to accommodate such large a declared surplus. It is a negotiation process, no options are off the table. The Company needs Employees off the payroll, the Union wants members to get the best possible package. Neither side wants "External Event" Layoffs. A generous first proposal will be countered with additional incentives. The best interests of the Company & the Union Members will be served.
Yes, I would say that surf guy is one of the happy employees and so am I. Why? Because "They care. They are committed. They understand the whole customer-staff-company triangle, where all of the legs support each other." That quote is from the article listed. We care now, we have cared, and we will continue to care for years to come-especially if we are thanked for our personal best effort. It doesn't take much to make a happy employee-just a little "hey, great job" goes A LONG WAY!! And the top needs to go back to the bottom and telling them that!!
