We have Verizon DSL in our office. It hasn't worked all week. The wait time to get to customer service is about an hour.
We originally called on Monday. They told us nothing was wrong. Two hours later, they told us they didn't know what was wrong. Later they told us the system as down in parts of Buffalo.
It was down all day Tuesday. Since Verizon didn't have a technician available, we had to hire one from a local computer store. Now it's Friday. The tech is downstairs. The guy we hired is downstairs also, telling the Verizon technician how to install VERIZON equipment.
Their technician literally has no clue what he's doing. He doesn't know what a router is and we had to tell him how to plug it in. (Yes, there are TWO CABLES, ONE IN ONE OUT. This was beyond his technical skill!!! He doesn't know what a browser is. The guy from Corporate was trying to walk him through it on the phone.
I'm using my blackberry to communicate. No this isn't Egypt.
The technician came in a truck that, I ><it you knot, looks like it was previously used by Fred Sanford in his junk business. The entire bottom is rusted out. There's a line of rust running down where the gas cap is. The rain gutters are rusting off and there are rust holes in the sides. The tires are bald and there are no hub caps.
Oh, this baby has to be a strong by... Or maybe more like a strong buy.
Maybe they don't like you and your whiny complaints. Why are you telling us? Do you think we care? If you must know, I care less than that technician does.
Why don't you go to another company where you think you will be happy?
Pro BS person
Hey bozo, you could have been more believable by not exaggerating. Spending so much time detailing the physical condition of the truck and comparing it to someone's intelligence was the first tip-off. The second tip-off was stating that you hired technician from "a local computer store" to fix something, when you ought to know that "the guy" wouldn't be able to fix anything on Verizon's side of the network interface anyway.
Why don't you surprise us all by specifying the date and time that the Verizon tech showed up. I'll bet this will put an end to all your posts.
He's not making it up. Been going on for awhile.

This sounds too much like a made up story. Nice try.
Let it,
I have to agree with you, this appears to be a made up story. I am not technical but come on who doesnt know what a router is???
Stop it with the bashing already
sounds like a contractor. All of verizon techs usually have many years on the job and I doubt any vz tech would come out not knowing what a router is.
This is what happens when a company cut costs and hires a warm body to do a job.
it wasnt a contractor, as they do not drive Verizon trucks. Sad. 24 billion to build a plant, just to serve 3 million customers. Sad.
maybe they are ignoring maintenance ..
getting ready to spinoff another segment to FTR .. g
The guy just left. It took them 4 hours to fix the DSL service.
