You surely are trolling. The union had the choice, have a job with slightly lower pay, or not have a job and get nothing. They chose to not have a job and got exactly what they asked for. Now 13,000 other employees also do not have a job because of their idiotic decision.
It's a good thing the unions have the best interest of their membership in mind.
Actually because of how it is set up, defense companies have already started lay offs. I know of one defense contractor company in ny that has never laid off. They are now announcing their 3rd round of layoffs.
that's because defense knows for certain that there won't be as many teats to suck on the government
udder after Jan 1 ....
there have already been statements to the effect that military cuts will be on the personnel side ,
and not much on the hardward side ... more than likely , new jets , large planes and ships will
be on hold for who knows how long , but anything tech that will enhance troops and drone type
equipment will remain strong ...
it's going to be stocking picking time with defense contractors , some will shrink and others
will do okay to very well ....
since the military constantly overspends , it will be an easy target to trim many billions without
actually hampering our defense capabilities ....
when investing anywhere , one has to take the step back frequently and determine what is
media hype and what the actual situation is ..... later ... garce
