Smart phones and data in general will grow for a long time.
At some point wireline will runoff to the point where the drag will stop.
Somebody like private equity firms may buy a chunk from VOD -- VZ has voting control anyway so 45% is not much different in terms of control than 25%.
As long as iPhones are the consumers favorite choice, this dilemma will always be present.
If VZ...or T for that matter...sell a LOT of Apple phones, they get whacked because of the subsidy payments.
If they DON'T meet phone sales expectations, they get hammered because of declining sales.
It's just a matter of time before the other carriers go through the same dog chasing its tail deal.
