    Union corruption is killing corporate productivity

    Union corruption is what is destroying corporations. I know a union employee for Verizon that was working as a Tech. When he started, he worked long and hard like most new workers on the job.
    After a few weeks, one of his union peers pulled him aside, grabbed him by his collar and said "Listen, bub. Stop working so hard. You're making the rest of us look bad". The union encourages low performance so Verizon has to hire more workers to do the job. That way, the union has more members to pay dues.
    There's also many documented cases of union employees on strike sabotaging phone lines and doing things to slow down the business like calling in bogus troubles. These are typical tactics that the union supports and encourages.

    • How sad big bad union and the company makes billions off the blood sweat and lost of life who have built the infrastructer and the network. I hear how bad unions are until you dont have one and the companys give you less pay and no benefits while the non working ceo makes 1000 times thae average employee.

      Well Ace you are completely wrong. The techs are held to productivity and rework standards and are disciplined accordingly. Easy for you to exaggerate something you do know nothing about. There may be a few slackers out there, but the majority of union employees are good hard working people and get the job done. No union approves of sabotaging phone lines or creating trouble. They do not support this type of behavior. I know first hand, you do not. By the way I am management, not a union member. You might want to get your facts straight before posting #$%$ like this !!!

    • Union workers have a code, work minimum to keep ur job so more jobs are available to other fellow humans, unlike management and their raping of the stock options, perks huge Salary for flying on Corporate
      jets, dinning and whining WDC worthless politicians

    • How about those poilice and firemen unions and teacher and all of government employees, They dont even have to produce earnings or revenue . VZ union employees are the least of VZ problems, they just paid 130 billion , 60 % in debt for a saturated wirless segment built on massive gigabit fibroptic landline network. VZ lobbyist work hand and hand with those government Union workers in Washington DC ,Your in good hands.

    • wow .. some of us have been saying that for years ... i can remember 40 years ago , when working
      as a union laborer on construction .. the carpenter could not pick up a board to move it , the laborer could
      only use a hammer , but only to dismantle something and tons of other union regs that resulted in people
      waiting for someone else to do what they could have done themselves

      today .. i know of a union bus driver (school bus in NYC) .. he picks up 4 students in the morning and drops
      off 5 in the afternoon .. driving a full sized bus ... unions served an excellent purpose 100 yrs ago , but
      have long outlived any benefits ... g

      • Yep, unions only concern is keeping as many of their members employed so they can continue to pay them dues. They don't care about the health or success of the company. They like holding the company hostage and try to convince their members that the company is the 'bad guy' out to get them. That's so they will think they need the union to protect them. Many successful complanies exist without unions but most unions are corrupt and do more harm than good.
