Talk about misleading! FIOS advertises "100 percent fiber optic"! But what do they use inside the house????? Regular old coax!!!! Also, "we're not cable"! But what do they use in the house???? Cables! Smoke and mirrors! Oh and deceit too!!!
My, my, aren't you an old timer! Don't you know of the newer cable being manufactured today that is 100% useable whereas the old cable contained 40% water moisture distortions? Just another technology disruption, correct?
In the immortal words of First Princess, Hillary Clinton:
WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
THIS is the word game you fixate on??? THIS is the "deceit" that worries you??? BOB, get a grip!
I have FIOS for TV/Internet/Telephone--The price is right, it works even when the wind blows or it's raining or snowing (take that Direct TV & Dish) . So who cares............. move on.
Bob corn cobb stole a post from some other clown and forgot to include the word "network". Elements at the edges of fiber networks are often not optical because they don't need to be. Perhaps he is upset that Verizon doesn't outfit his trailer with fiber.
WOW! Too many Verizon shills here!!!! I'm not saying fios is a bad product. I'm saying, if you have such a great product, why be deceitful? It's hyped as something brand new, which is not the case. They have made it better, with fiber to the home, but it still falls under the definition of a "cable company". The original ads deceived in saying, "it's not cable". Also the ad with the tech saying "it's true qualm". I guess the other providers have false qualm? I would think you would want Verizon to stick to wireless, since fios has not been a great revenue generator. All I can say is Cox rox!!!
No, what "you" are saying is an almost exact copy of what someone else commented a while back. I like your comment about "qualm", shows how much you know about technology. You're just not in phase...
You are splitting too many hairs. I can use the same analogy you use to say the automotive industry putting out 100% electric vehicles are lying big time, a bold faced lie. Somewhere in the power grid, there is some type of fossil fuel, nuclear fission, wind, or geo thermal power source that is used to run the generators that create the AC current. To be 100% all electric end-to-end, then the power source used to create the power at the generating stations has to come from a 100% electrical source to create the electrical generation. It is not, therefore any claims that an "all electric" vehicle is 100% electric is a lie, you cannot claim something as 100% if it is not true end-to-end 100%. Why is a company like Tesla lying about have a 100% electric vehicle when clearly the power to run the vehicle did not originate from a pure 100% electrical source? At best, they should be claiming it to be an electrical hybrid because the power source was created by a non-electrical fuel source.
You and I own the wiring in our homes. FiOS is FTTP or FTTH, with ever term you would like to use, meaning to the side of your house or just inside with fiber. The wiring in your house is utilized after. Nothing misleading, you just have no clue what your talking about.
