when you print up 46% more shares, do you creat more or less demand for a stock?

are their suddenly a million new people interested in buying shares just because they are newly printed...or will there be more sellers created?????

    • depends on what you buy with the money you got for printing the stock...and debt....and money you gave away. the market seems to be reacting favorably to the buyout so far so i would say demand is up at the moment.

    • Why are you hung up on MORE shares and ignoring MORE net worth?

    • no new shares were printed. The company bought in the outstanding 45% of shares held by vodaphone.

      • 60 billion dollars worth of new stock. 1,.2 billion new shares. went from 2.862 billion to about 4.1 billion shares after the sale.

      • Actually, new shares were printed along with cash paid (from a large bond offering last September). However, these silly shorts trying to build a selling case are six months behind the curve. This big share issuance has been widely known for six months and those who were to receive and did not or could not retain the VZ shares were hedging their position for many months now. The large volume as of late with modest movement in price is a sign that this was the case. Dave is WAAAAAAY behind the curve.

Now VZ has reason for buyers as the newly issued shares and debt has purchased the 45% or Verizon Wireless assets AND 45% OF THE CASH FLOW/PROFITS now go to VZ and their is a net gain in profits in the very end of an added 40 cents/share. Take that on 12X multiple and we should be moving $5 higher in the near term. Expect $53-$57 in the not-so-distant future. VZ nearly doubled (went from 55% ownership to 100%) and issued 46% increase in stock. It will take about five years to chew up the debt issued (in lieu of more stock) to make the purchase but in four to five years the cash flow will balloon after paying off the bulk of the debt and VZ will become a dividend paying KING. Good growth in store between now and then (on increased data usages and as connectivity grows) should help push shares higher in the mean time. VZ undervalued by at least 20% right now.
