Take the figure you were originally expecting before the announcement (this should be 84 cents times your total number of shares) then multiply by two.
If the number you arrive at as a result of following these instructions is more than what you actually received, then someone (perhaps your broker, a brother in-law always in hock to his bookie, or some dishonest shyster fresh out of prison you hired to handle your accounts) knows you well enough to anticipate your confusion on this issue and has taken, shall we say, an ignoble and less than honest advantage of it.
