Why post wrong ideas about the dividend? Go to the Seadrill website.

Under investor relations, click on dividends. They paid Q3 and Q4 together. They did NOT do anything to Q1. It will be announce soon and paid in about six weeks.

    • SDRL - Dividend information

Hamilton, Bermuda, December 3, 2012 - Reference is made to the third quarter 2012 report released on November 26, 2012. Seadrill Limited will be trading ex-dividend of a cash dividend of US$1.70 per share on December 4, 2012. The total dividend of US$1.70 to be distributed includes a third quarter 2012 dividend of US$0.85 and an accelerated distribution of the fourth quarter 2012 dividend of US$0.85. The record date is December 6, 2012, and the dividend will be paid on or about December 21, 2012.

    • In December '12 SDRL paid the expected dividend from the previous quarter AND the dividend that was to be paid in March '13. I expect the next dividend to be paid in June '13. Maybe ex will be in May.

With all due respect, what is so hard to understand about the last dividend of $1.70 being paid??? Here is the exact statement from the SDRL website, re=printed below... Please read it and let's put this issue to sleep... It is bad enough that our stock is getting hit badly and to have posts about how the dividend was previously paid is pointless... Audiophul is absolutely correct...

      Sentiment: Hold

    • Having gone to the website, I still have no idea what the time frame is for the next dividend.

        kjohnson:
Attached is the prior dividends paid by SDRL from 2007 to Dec 21st, 2012... From the chart a reasonable expectation may be made that the 1st quarters X-date should occur sometime between May 22nd and June 15th of this year, with payment usually within 2 weeks of said posting... Until management makes a formal announcement, this is the best information available at this time... (SEC regulations require that the X-Dividend Date be announced at least ten (10) days prior to the payment...)
