"Of course, AMD is not expected to make a profit this year or next."
Don't you get tired of making this stuff up....there are alot of analysts that expect AMD to return to profitability in Q4-2003. If they were to do any research, even a basher should be able to find a profit expectation, or does Intel not allow thier employees to be informed
> there are alot of analysts that expect AMD to return to profitability in Q4-2003
There are 24 covering analysts. The best (most optimistic) expects a one penny profit in Q4-2003. Q4 is the best quarter of the year (Christmas). If the most optimistic analyst says one penny in your best quarter, you aren't getting to a profitible year anytime soon.
there are thousands of analysts. the analysts you wish to report on cannot even get their projections right for this quarter....A couple of weeks back, AMD guided revenues down to around $620M, and they also said that breakeven should be around $820M, thus a $200M loss, or approx. $.58/share. The analysta expect a smaller loss than this, and thus will report that AMD has missed expectations yet again. Rational thinking says any analyst not expecting at least $.58/share loss should not be trusted
