"The list of running programs is huge, I load lots of stuff at startup. "
LOL no kidding. it doesnt mean theyre all utilizing CPU. most of them are probably utilizing 0%. the video editing app is most likely SINGLE THREADED.
The list of running programs is huge, I load lots of stuff at startup. Manly Intel HT processors can do that kind of stuff. Right now my 16gb digital video file is being split up into clips...I let the software do the first iteration for me. This is a CPU intensive task but with HT nothing else skips a beat. HT ROCKS!
as a matter of fact i have. you clearly dont understand cpu utilization. here's a hint idiot. under the list of running apps, see what your firewall and antivirus are using. LOL. unless you think these things plus typing should use a whole lot more. LOL!
Was it AMDDJ that said 32 bit windows had a file size limitation of 2gb? I am dumping some digital video from my Digital-8 video camera into Windows Movie Maker on Windows XP Professional. So far the file is over five gigabytes in size and that is only the first 24 minutes of video. While typing this message AND dumping video plus firewall, virus scanner, etc. my CPU usage is less than 9% between my HT psuedo dual processors. Amazing to think I am saving this file as a massive AVI. The miracle of Intel, the miracle of HT, the miracle of DMA. Life is good. I dont need useless 64 bits...but I'll take a bigger hard drive!
Now 28 minutes and 5.9 gigabyte file...one hour and another 12 or so gigabytes to go!
So much for your 2gb limit. You will have to find another falsehood to get people to buy the hype.
youre an idiot. youre "dumping" it onto your harddrive, NOT into memory. by the way, "dumping" video onto your PC is NOT cpu intensive. neither is the firewall, neither is the antivirus, and neither is YOUR typing.
It all depends on O/S and file system.
Under DOS and Windows 95/98 I think FAT16 was limited to 2GB.
Under XP or NT/200x FAT16 and FAT32 have file limits of 4GB while with NTFS the limit is 16TB.
I'm laughing all the way to the bank.
It's simply amazing, AMD is actually lower than it was in 1985. Inflation adjusted, AMD must be the mother of all loser companies. How do AMD do dat?
(It's not products, it's not MHz, it's not whatever, it's the management, stupid!)

If the AMD longs want to lose money, why should you try to prevent it......You should just sell the stock short, and keep your mouth shut........otherwise, just go away
