It means that until IDC reports the true marketshare data, AMD can claim it is not losing share (and still not get sued) because investors can't prove that AMD knew it was losing share.
It also means that gross margins will be yet again significantly lower and nearing that of the K6 days and that AMD continued slashing prices to try to save share.
AMD will try to paint the pig as pretty as possible, but analysts during the call will determine that not only did AMD crash margins to K6 levels, they also were unable to hold marketshare levels as well. Even further, Q2 will be far far worse than Q1.
