Herbie, you've shown your true colors. You only believe exactly what you're told.
So IP is worth nothing huh? that's why facebook is looking at a $100 billion valuation right? Sure.
Like the new name? I'm having fun now.
500,000 Trinity CPUs per month. Guess which laptop sells with that volume? The monopolist is attacking Apple with incredibly fury... These is only one possible explanation if you know anything about the monopolist's history.
Finally, a real response. Look how long that took.
Of course that's a possibility, but i don't think it's gong to be the case. My point was that I'm speculating that demand for these APus is much larger than most people realize, and are targeted for a certain market segment that pretty much all the continuous bashers here completely ignore in favor of trumpeting Intel's expensive, self created Ultrabook market.
Look at the state of the economy. Spoiled princesses and suburbanites who are still living posh may well want what Intel is now pushing but what about everybody else? I have more than enough disposable income for an Air or an Ultrabook but I'm not going to buy one because I don't see them as being worth it at all. I won't touch a Macbook pro until the refresh either because I know the hardware is outdated and even then it's overpriced.
I'm not going to go digging for the actual figures but it's pretty obvious that the i3 line holds the Lion's share of Intel's lineup and they're not releasing them until Q3, at least that's the chatter.
i3 had the highest volume relative to other SB CPUs. Trinity takes the i3 head on with no real competition because Intel is rolling them out late. Say what you want but this tells me that there are a lot of Trinity sales on the horizon.
The only thing 30 million Trinchitty CPUs will do is fill up he local landfill
In hat regard, if AMD does indeed manage to sell 30 mill Trinchitty CPUs in a year, hat is not that many.
