Intel remains massively profitable. AMD is so deep in the red, it cannot hope to recover. Intel has the entire high end server market in the bag with Knights Corner. AMD's server market share will be less than 3% at the end of the current quarter. Intel will now go head to head with ARM for the low end and low power. AMD is irrelevant. Intel is will get a huge shot in the arm as AMD goes under and cedes all of its remaining market share to Intel.
Intel has never lost any competitive battle in any segment. Flash, CPUs, you name it. Intel is an invincible innovator. In two years no one will even remember what AMD was. It'll be a footnote in Intel's history (AMD - a parasitic licensee of Intel x86 technology whose sole contribution to x86 history was keeping prices lower than they should have been.).
Mark my words. In 5 years Intel will have more than 50% of the mobile device market, more than 90% of the server market, and AMD will be at least 4 years in the grave. Thump-thump; AMD is roadkill.
