((((Look for AMD to take market share away from Intel and Nvidia))))
With the PC market slowdown, companies like HP, Dell, Toshiba etc. will want to cut expenses to get larger margins on the PC. Both Intel and Nvidia are costly as compared to AMD. AMD products work just as well & in some cases better than Intel and Nvidia.
If the PC maker chooses AMD, it will save them money on every PC produced. This increases in margins will help the PC makers bottom line.
If you listened to the Q4 conference call, you would know that AMD was in 1/3 the laptops sold in Q4.
The OEMs are starting to look close at margins. They have to make up for the slow down in PC sales some how and AMD fits the bill.
It is much easier for AMD to gain market share than it is for Intel.
See, that is exactly the sort of nonsense that will get you permanently banned from owning shares in or posting to message boards of public companies.
AMD isn't taking market share from anyone until ARM shows up, and then it's going to be the 20th-biggest player in a market that everyone else is growing in. It will have sub-1% share there, and will decline from that point.
