They are bloated with all this manufacturing infrastructure of old outdated technology. They are now chasing AMD in integrated graphics. Actually always have been. With PC sales dipping and Intel not having other outlets like low cost embedded, or gaming consoled, intel is stuck with high priced tablet chips that will not sell. Their integrated graphics release today only gains 50% in performance relative to their previous unimpressive output. AMD stock is being manipulated. Pushed down to a ridiculous low. Notice all the paid bashers are gone for the most part. They are now long. Just have to know when to jump out. Cause at some point, they will sell off big. Be cautious of a serious pump and dump.
How can Intel be chasing AMD when Intel has the best CPUs and Haswell will have the best integrated graphics. I'm seeing reports of up to 3 times GPU gains for Haswell, you must be living under a rock.
Being bloated with the most advanced process is a good thing, TSMC is doing great with Intel's leftovers.
If Intel decided to become a job shop then TSMC/Samsung foundry business would take a major dive.
