Word is spreading around the country that Sunday traffic and sales volume is WAY DOWN from a few years ago. Particularly in Football Season.
IMHO The target customer, well educated metro area age 26 to 35 have a full line up of Flat screen tv's and love to watch football with their friends. The last place they are is in a furniture store on a Sunday.
So trim back those Sunday hours? Perhaps to 11am to 3pm from 12 noon to 6pm. However many stores know only too well that after 1pm on a Sunday the traffic drops way off.
And with so many watching their almamaters, Saturday afternoons are far from what they used to be, have you noticed the absence of that 24 to 35 year age group?
