These guys knew how to generate volume and clean well managed stores. After Conaway took over these guys were not allowed to do their jobs - most were fired then Eddie took over and the rest were taken out. Sad days for a Great Retailer
I too remember Brumley - he was tough for sure but he cared about the stores. He was a guy who would listen to you and if it was a good idea he would use it. But he was a tough son of a gun for sure. I didn't know any of the other people you mentioned. I worked at the Rochester store
Brumley was like a gestapo,He would come into our store and stomp around,He was much feared.
I never saw him roll up his shirt sleeves. He looked down on the peons that worked at our store. We never did anything right. Is that the kind of leaders you want one who intimates. When you give respect, you get it back too fold. There were only two men that were D.M.that were good.
Each one that followed were just as bad. They didnt help KMart, they just sweeten their own pockets.
