No I do not want to donate to families of military veterans and no I do not want to fill out the survey on my experience at Sears with the numbers on my receipt.
That was how my experience shopping at Sears went recently just to pay for a Tea dispenser and a pair of sunglasses with my credit card. I will never shop at Sears again.
I now use my Chase Amazon rewards card and have an Amazon Prime subscription to get free 2 day shipping and do so with anything I would buy from Sears without the hassle or pickup! Die retail giant die!
Ok speaking for Fast Eddie, we will die soon but there will be a ghost that will live a long time.
You have joined an estimated 220,000,000 that will not shop at Sears as well. It shows your good judgement. I would not however, short my shares or I will take you out to the wood shed for a spanking.
Fast eddie surrogate spokesperson,
Of course it's not the cashier's fault. It's Sears culture (or lack thereof).
"May I have your phone number? What, you aren't a member of shop your way rewards? May I have your email address? Will you be paying for your purchase on your Sears card? What, you don't have a Sears card? How would you like to save $15 on your first bill plus get double shop your way rewards points? And you get a XX% discount on today's purchase. It only takes about 3 minutes of your time to apply. Did you know that if you are a member of shop your way rewards, you get your purchase with this discount, too? Please take the two question survey on the touchpad at the end of your transaction. Please take the time to make out the customer satisfaction survey when you get home. That is how we are evaluated by our company."
"Dang it, just ring up my vacuum cleaner bag so I can get out of here, please."
Ok, I'm gonna make this real easy for you:
If the cashier doesn't ask these questions, THEY GET FIRED!
Don't complain on a website no one reads. Don't complain to the manager of the store. That manager is under pressure to reach quotas. If he or she doesn't reach those quotas, THEY GET FIRED!
Want to complain? Go to the customer service website and complain there. No one will listen, but maybe you will feel just a little bit better because you're not affecting anything here.
I already have a Sears reedit card and don't normally buy a warranty on anything. Some folks do want this stuff though. They would't ask if no one said yes. Warranties are a high margin sale. As a bondholder, I'm happy to see them asking.
I hear that JCP is pulling out all their cashiers in favor of self checkout. Sounds like a great move for Sears. When I shop I want a cashier to ring the stuff up.
and I don't want the warranty either! Can you imagine me saying to myself......Today I will make a special trip to Sears to apply for a credit card, to fill out a survey, and to practice altruism and shed some bothersome cash! No! I just want to pay as quickly as possible and get out of Sears.
