Having stock on hand to sell has quite a bit to do with customer service. Like I said, you have no idea what you are talking about. Give an example of "superior IT".
As far as the stock goes we'll see Monday & Tuesday & we'll listen to you bitch and moan the rest of the week.
I'm talking about customer service you moron! All the IT in the world won't help if the emplyees are idiots - fortunatley those at HD are smart, efficient, and DO have superior IT resources to those at LOW. Win win situation at HD that LOW's is trying hard to emulate. Full parking lots? So what - most Lowe's are not true stand alone stores anyway (LOW's are mostly squatters on the land they occupy too) so it is likely that quite a few of those cars are from other stores....maybe even HD. HD has better everything including IT services to its employees to help ensure great customer satisfaction and repeat visits. Loyalty is huge at HD - too bad the same thing can't be said about LOW's but yeah they may get it right some day.....
It is amazing how scared the HD investors have become. Now they bring up IT? How many IT awards has HD's IT group won lately? I doubt you have any leg to stand on to speak intelligently about comparisons between Home Depot and Lowe's IT. I will give you a hint; one of them has centralized replentishment and the other is trying to get there. Who is learning what from who?
You are embarrassing yourself. If you want to cheerlead for HD fine, go do it on their board. Bobby N. could use some cheering right about now. After Tuesday, he might need a job too. Lowe's has kicked HD's butt for the past 5 quarters and will continue to do so.
Yeah, I once had a hard time finding a cart at HD back in G'ville, FL too...and it really unnerved me. However, I could walk into the HD, say I wanted to tile a floor, and easily find an associate to walk me through the store picking up the supplies while explaining the process step-by-step. I once spent 30 mins in Lowe's trying to explain to 3 different people why I didn't need an entire light fixture when trying to locate a single part!
Personally, I'd rather have the qualified help inside than out in the parking lot collecting carts. True, there is room for improvement with both stores but I'm putting my money w/ HD.
HD's a decent buy at current levels but LOW's business is outperforming and has MUCH more room for growth. I didn't know that better business performance is "second-rate." Post again when you have some intelligent insight to share. By the way, HD and LOW should both prosper.
HD has more store traffic and more competetive pricing on most items. I have done the comparisons here in denver as a matter of fact. You are just another pumper from LOW. Go away moron. BTW saw lots of deliveries at the HD store in glendale tonite - went by lowe's 10 mintes later and it was like a ghost town. Just my observations. You may disagree but there is no need to be caustic about it.
