Chairman, CEO of Lowe's, Bob Tillman was recently spotted shopping in a Home Depot store in Charlotte. When asked about the overflowing shopping cart he was taking to his car he sheepishly replied,"their selection and prices are the best. If I need simple things like light bulbs or garbage bags I go to our stores (Lowe's) but if I need serious home improvement merchandise I go to Home Depot, they have the expert advice I need to help me and their prices are the very best."
No fooling, this is a true story recently reported by the Charlotte Observer.
The Observer site sports a search engine & a couple of interesting articles that mention local Lowe's stores. But none headlined "CEO Suffocates in Laughing Fit Triggered by Crude Attempt at Message Board Slander".
This one would be on page 1 of the Wall Street Journal if it were true. Aim lower.
Dumb-head, you must forgot that Tilman grew up in a Lowe's store were you first had to learn the contractor business and then the retail business. Gosh, he has learned more about product than anyone will every learn working in a Home Depot.
