kerry campaign - wheels falling off

The Kerry campaign is making a huge blunder. Turning and attacking the veterans who oppose him only keeps the story in the news that much longer. Instead of being an unquestioned war hero, now everyone not under a barrel knows that his war status is blemished and no-one knows quite what to believe. This might not be so bad except he has based his entire campaign on his 4 months of service in Vietnam. Now that is going from a 100% plus to a 50/50. Today's New York Times will try to rescue its boy with a top story on how "Republicans" are behind this. Apparently they think you have to prove you are not a republican before you are afforded free speech rights. But the real story here is going to be the hypocrisy of the whole 527 fiasco. Kerry will be seen as whining about a group of veterans who got a few hundred thousand from donors who were (gasp!) republicans while at the same time Kerry has no problem with moveon.org and other leftist 527s spending millions from Soros on attack ads against Bush. Most real war heros seem able to take it as well as dish it out. But then most real war heros manage to make a living for themselves instead of living rich on dead men's money. And then there is the simple fact that Kerry could bring all this to a screeching halt if he wanted to simply by signing a standard form 180 and releasing all his records. He won't. Obvious coverup. Instead of sitting down with Russert or someone and coming clean, Kerry chooses to hide the facts and attack those making serious charges. Lack of character. Bush will win, not even close.

    • I own both equities so I hope both are very successful. You don't get it so there isn't any reason to explain it further. Don't hide beside or in back of the existance or lack of some law as a defense. Very juvenile. You're from Texas, aren't you

    • So, Now I'm not allowed to complain about HD because my son works there - that's classic. If you follow my posts with such ferver you would also know that I DEFEND and praise HD as much as I knock them. I guess in your sad little world it is not permissible to call'em like you see them - that is all I do. Still, I prefer to shop at Lowes because of the CS and they usually have what I need. I can't recall ANY law that says I have to shop where my son works.

    • I make more retired than the idiot does working! What kind of a scumbucket would continually knock his son's employer while taking advantage of that employer's benefits? You are a real piece o jit! The word hypocrite comes to mind. LOSER

    • So you would elect a murdering war criminal that would trample your First Amendment rights in a heartbeat as he has already demonstrated by his attemts to stop the Swifties from speakinf out and trying to ban a book that makes him look bad - Yup, your a Democrat.

And yes, "the little idiot" still works for HD. In fact, HD is now picking up his tuition costs for college. Fortunately, with an education, he won't grow up to be a BIG IDIOT like you. Plus, unlike you, HE HAS A JOB.

    • English is Lightnings second language. Add to that he doesn't read very well and understands nuance and history not at all.

    • >>How can anyone justify their support for him?<<

The Vietnam veterans I've talked with will say the same thing today. Vietnam was a very dirty war and yes Geneva Conventions were violated by both sides.

So why support him on this statement... It was the truth.

    • Because of who is opponent is. BTW, does the little idiot still work at HD?

    • Mo... thank you for carrying out the battle in the best tradition of American thought and debate. Lightning strikes me as little more than reactionary noise, but my hands are full on the KO and PEP boards. May you enligthen the unenlightened.

Oh, my bad... I thought this was the LOW finacial board where members could talk about LOW... oh wait, it is... looks like we're up a little today. Judging from the parking lot at my local Lowe's, sales should be good and the rebuilding in the aftermath of Charley should drive sales for both LOW and HD.

If you must post your political bullshit here, do you think you could capitalize the 'a' in AMERICA? Might add a little credibility to your implication that you and your ilk acatually care about our nation and your misguided view which I would love to rebut if we were on a message board about politics where your drivel belongs. Thank you.
