Why cant full time employees have regular day time hours, and have the flex/part time people work weekends. They say you lead by example, so why cant corporate, work weekends and have hours that change every day? Makes you wonder.
THIS IS RETAIL!!! What are you a prima dona? If you want to only work week days, get a corporate job. With your attitude, I doubt that you could. I left a corp. job for semi retirement and I am a part timer because I chose to enjoy my life, which does not mean working only nights and weekends. If they made part timers work all of the weekend and night shifts, how long do you think they would stay? I'd be gone tomorrow because I know that I would be able to get something with better hours. Bet you can't say that.
First of Corporate folks think they are better than store personel. Lowes could make working hours better for their employees by doing away with their corporate schedule as they call it. I used to close the store (out at midnight) and then have to open the store (6 am). I can remember closing a $$35000 install and then being told, "your goals are going to be adjusted" "dont forget to mop your floors before you leave". store personel get #$%$ on!
As soon`as you can get 95 percent of the people that spend big money on home improvment projects come in between 9 and 5 it wont change. The fact is flexable schedules are designed around customers needs. Corporate people are not in a selling culture therefore flex schedules would be idiotic.
Workers need to work when customers want to buy. there are some Departments that are much more active nights and weekends - particularly Departments where most purchases are 'joint' husband/wife things - like carpet, appliances, countertops. Not sure you want all these customers to be handle by part-timers.
