If LOW wants to save $, curb these returns.

Returns are about 15-25% of sales. Not only do we have to re-stock most times you cannot resell these opened & damaged returns. Charge a 1% return fee/restock charge.

    • We get returns that are someone's garage sale finds, the old product in the box (customer keeps the new one), product that we don't carry (HD does), 3 year old tinted paint that someone had laying around, almost empty paint cand that the customer brings back for a "replacement" because it isn't working (bet they under estimated what they needed), intentionally damaged power equipment that was used once (to do what they needed) so they can return a problem product, products missing a key piece that the customer apparently needed, product that had been marked down because of damage and returned at the full, undamaged price because the customer paid cash and could not find the receipt, and on and on... And yes, these have all been taken back and the customer given a refund or credit.

    • customer service.

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • For whatever reason, Lowe's has a policy in place where you can return just about anything. Last week we took a toilet seat back that was nasty and just filthy. Who is gonna buy something like that? I guess the old gentleman wanted a new one but wanted it for free. I see this garbage all the time. Lowe's is afraid of losing customers. Lowe' needs to stop holding the consumers hands.

    • Contractors like myself will not go to Lowes anymmore for lumber because it is very inferior China shipped in crap that is worthless to use...

Lowes don't care, as they took all contractor discounts away and other former reasons Lowes existed with the small business community and now they are marking the end to their existence like Home Depot is as well...

    • The employee in returns told all the customers we take back thing we don't even sell.... per the store manager-can you say negative sales.

      • Lowe's gets destroyed on paint returns. They aren't supposed to return paint, but weak managers bow to yelling, angry customers.

happens all the time. also those purdy brushes are getting stolen by thieves like there is no tomorrow.

for awhile, the purdy's were locked up like the spray tips are, but some people complained and they let them sit out again. thieves destroy lowe's on that item.

sometimes the Valspar and Olympic reps will give credit on paint complaints, but paint being returned because of mistints is swallowed by the store.

return mistinted paint is akin to returning $30 steaks at a restaurant and then walking out of the establishment. No one can really do anything with that mistinted paint, other than turn around and sell it at a major loss.

If Lowe's got a handle on their paint returns, they would be able to keep those 1,700 mid level managers.
