Lowe's constant requesting of phone number on cash purchases is very annoying.
Get over yourself, CarolinaBob
There is a reason they do this. If you need to ever return an item, all they have to do is enter your phone number and they can tell what the date was when you made the purchase. Simple.
Home Depot check out is much easier and faster. Lowes enthrallment with tracking continues to be an annoyance and I now use Home Depot much more often.
I was told it allowed a cash refund if the receipt was lost...
they ask for the numbers to track demographics. that way they know who and from where customers are coming from. makes sense to me.bud
If that is the pupose, why not put a cap on it such as $25. It is silly to ask for phone numbers on minor purchases and an annoyance to the customer. Home Depot has an easier checkout procedure on cash and credit cards.
