It sounds weird, I know. But think about how many goals could be achieved by such a move - AAPL buys CRUS! First, AAPL only needs to spend about 2% of its cash to do this. Second, the great PR from AAPL using it's cash to do something good for the Company and the investors. Third, CRUS sells predominantly to AAPL and it's very profitable. So AAPL can simply absorb the CRUS profits making products more profitable - hence, higher margins. Lastly, AAPL sends a clear signal to Samsung that AAPL is thinking of becoming more of a top-down company and they may soon be replaced as one of AAPL's suppliers.
