I know that I just expressing inner contempt........

for having taken such a hit on this stock. I did not follow my trading principles (of using a stop loss) and maybe I'mnow just looking for a glimmer of hope. I'm 'emotionally' attached to this stock (which happens when you get caught holding something) and emotion clouds judgement.

I know that this is a 'childish' question but what are the chances of this stock ever seeing $40 again?

    No offensive responses please.

    • Like you, i didn't follow some of my basic investment principles on this one. I chased it, betting on a good earnings report back when this was in the high 30's and i didn't set the stop/loss orders that i would typically set. Instead, i bought more, and i bought all the way down into the $16.50 range. So, i have more of my portfolio than i would like tied up in this one stock and my average price is still in the high 20's, so i'm still significantly underwater on this one.

I don't know if this will see $40 again in the near future, but i'm not betting on that. Realistically for me, if i see something in the mid- to upper-20's, i will be looking to cut my losses and press the 'Reset' button on this stock. I won't be holding for $40, but that's just me.

I do believe this company is doing fine. Obviously, their margins are under some pressure, but most of the fall is simply due to overly-high (in my view) market expectations of what this company "should be" churning out in the way of numbers. If you've followed AAPL at all, you know that the stock falls out of favor every now and again, and suddenly, it screams back (carry its suppliers with it). I expect the same here with AAPL likely to release a bunch of new products here shortly. I also think that AAPL could potentially buy CRUS out, they have the $$ and they are so closely linked, it probably makes sense on a number of levels (especially if CRUS shows signs of diversifying away from AAPL-specific products and AAPL thinks this might be bad for them). So, i am bullish on both AAPL and CRUS in the long run.

I DO expect to see mid- to upper-20's on CRUS in the next year, and if so, i will likely (unless i get some information that i don't have now) sell most or all, take a smaller loss and then, potentially buy back in at more strategic points in the future.

That's my .02, good luck and cheers!

      Sentiment: Buy

    • first of all I hope you added in on the lows I bought some for fun, and dont worry this is how CRUS is, so remeber to get out when the getting is good!! Another opportubity will happen to get back in always does!!

      Sentiment: Strong Buy

    • Hey JV! Cirrus could be 40 in 2 weeks, 2 months or 2 years. I believe it will hit 40 again. the worst behind us. IMO
