The online is great for someone like myself that watches a lot of movies and shows. I definitely get my monies worth each month - I never feel ripped off. I couldn't use Redbox I would feel rushed each time I get a movie. I would be paying $3 for each movie. Plus I can't get season series like TrueBlood, Lost, 24, or The Shield. I absolutely love going in the stores and immediately exchanging my mailer for a movie. That is the difference over Netflix - I get my next movie immediately!!
To answer the first question - I live in central NC.
1 cent cheaper? I got two movies from Redbox for only $1.09. Redbox is less than a mile from my house, while the closest BB kiosk is about 4 miles away. Why can't NCR roll out those kiosks faster? There is a Rite-Aid across the Redbox location, but there is no BB kiosk in it yet.
Did you know that you can only exchange a mailed disc with a disc from a local store? When I exchanged a disc, I was hoping that I would be able to keep going back to the store to get new discs until I reach the limit of 5. Well, it turns out that I have to wait for BB to mail the next disc in my queue. I returned the disc to the store last Friday and I am not getting another disc in the mail until Tuesday. There goes my weekend viewing. That is why I tried Redbox. Honestly, I am happy with Redbox and I might cancel my BB subscription. I don't care if I have to wait for 28 days to get the new releases. I didn't get most of the popular movies right away anyway. Here are the discs in my queue: 1. Defiance - processing 2. Ran - available. This was number 1 in my queue when I started last May 20th. 3. The Road - short wait 4. Dear John - short wait 5. New Moon - available 6. From Paris with Love - long wait 7. Doctor Shivago - very long wait 8. Fiddler On The Roof - available
Paying $12.99 a month is no longer a good deal for me. My son has Netflix and he gets streamed video for free. Granted that the video is not HD, he can watch more movies anytime.
Keyes and his management team are clueless. They need to get their act together.
You just need to learn to time your exchanges better. It is rare that I am without a movie. If you are waiting on a movie in your queue then you need to rent that movie when you take your mailer in to the store. They are always available in the store.
I get my movies in the mail within two days. Since I have 3 out at a time it works out great.
