    Thanks Mr Wily...

I didn't realize that Blockbuster was in such
peril because you stock extra copies of "Leprechan 4
-In Space" and "Spring Break 8 - The Revenge of the
Nerdy Cheerleaders"... Good info, I'm sure we can
    expect some downgrades soon.

      LAS VEGAS and DALLAS--(BUSINESS

creator of personal television, and Blockbuster Inc.
(NYSE: BBI - news), the world's largest provider of
rentable home entertainment, today announced an alliance
to expand Blockbuster's traditional video rental
business to an entertainment service delivered through
TiVo. The companies will work together to develop and
deploy a video on demand like service that will enable
TiVo subscribers to obtain a selection of movies for
viewing through their TiVo receivers. The companies will
work together toward deployment of the service in the
      coming year.

      The TiVo/Blockbuster alliance also
includes cross-promotional opportunities that will benefit
each company's customers. Using the TiVo Personal TV

Blockbuster stores or for viewing through their TiVo
      receivers.

TiVo will have the opportunity to promote

``TiVo has partnered with the leading
companies in home entertainment, and this alliance, with
the world's leading retailer of home video, DVDs and
video games, is another step toward providing our
customers with control over how, when and what they watch
on TV.'' said Morgan Guenther, TiVo's vice president
      of business development.

      ``Our goal at
Blockbuster is to provide quality movies conveniently to
people at home whether it's from our retail store base

      ``TiVo is designed
to provide multiple services to consumers,''
continued Guenther. ``The Blockbuster service is one of the
premier entertainment services that will potentially
provide content and commerce services to TiVo
      subscribers.''

      About Blockbuster Inc.

    • Alert: Blockbuster Video Rentals to be Delivered on Entertainment Service Through Tivo
(This is a headline-only alert, although it will likely be followed by an article soon)

    • Now this board is beginning to getting get... There is no need for middlemen when everything goes digital, period.

    • The real laugh is that BB thinks the studios are gonna let bb get in on a piece of electronic home delivery. Gimme a break.

    • In a few short years, if that long, when it is
common for your TV to be connected to the net and you
can watch any movie, anytime you want on demand for
$4 and record it if you want.

      Where does
blockbuster fit into this world. Do I click a button or do I
get my lazy ass up, climb in the car, drive two miles
in the snow, just to find my new release gone and
some jackass telling me to try back
      tommorrow.

This is a long term short unless they buy the poeple
that are putting them out of business. Does anybody
really see it any other way??????

    • It looks to me as though the big money players
are leaving old Sumner to hang in the breeze. Viacom
has to get rid of BB quickly or incur the wrath if
the federal government. The vertical integration of
      Viacom/Showtime/Blockbuster is clearly illegal.

      The big boys are
gonna take this puppy down even further.

    • ATTENTION...PLEASE READ!

      The damage has
been done, and BB style revenue sharing
      isn't the
cure. It was a market share strategy, employed and
      conceived
by Sumner Redstone, trying to fool Wall Street. It's
      like the frog that
puffs itself up to try and look
bigger than he is. And just like that frog,
      I'd like
to see this business strategy croak.

      Look,
OVER-SATURATING AN ALREADY FLOODED MARKET WITH
      MORE COPIES OF
VIDEOS THAN ANYONE COULD POSSIBLY USE
      DOES NOT MAKE
GOOD ECONOMIC SENSE. You know it, I know it,
      and
Wall Street knows it. Now if only Blockbuster would
      admit it, and stop
      trying to scam investors, and
cram revenue sharing down the throats of
      an
industry that FARED SO MUCH BETTER, INCLUDING THEM,
      WITHOUT
IT, then, and only then, would there be any chance to
      resuscitate this
      business.

      Mark Wattles said long
ago, "If everybody revenue shares, then revenue

sharing won't work." He spoke a simple truth. Revenue
      sharing doesn't
work for movie theaters, in and of
itself, and it can't work for Video
      Stores.
Blockbuster lost $300+ million in 1997 and 1998, and an "as
      yet" un-
      determined multi-million dollar loss for
1999. Their stock just hit an ALL-
      TIME LOW today,
as their fourth quarter results DID NOT meet
      Wall
Street's expectations. Video rental business was DOWN 9%
      as a whole
industry, for the fourth quarter of
1999. Christmas week was down a
      staggering 27%.
This, with more copies than ever on the street. Are
      we
getting the picture yet? The Hollywood Studios just had
      their best year
ever. Not the movie theaters. And
NOT the Video Industry. But, for some
      unknown
reason, we're allowing them to convert our "successful
      business
strategy," into a money losing, revenue sharing model, of
      which only
THEY CAN PROFIT. Due your due
dilligence. Check the facts. I am not
      wrong.
      Sumner
Redstone doesn't rent videos, and never
      will. Sumner
Redstone HATES Blockbuster, and that is why he has
      done
everything in his power to spin it off from his empire.

SUPPORT THE FAIR LAWSUIT WITH EVERYTHING YOU CAN.

      Marky

    • Those are exactly the kinds of titles BB will
have 30-40 copies of (especialy Showtime exclusives).
BB leads people to believe a movie is good just
because there are so many copies. I do my customers a
service by not getting any copies of these kinds of dogs!
