    Weird how we always highball...

casualties(WTC, IRAQ losses, Hurricane deaths) and blow things out of proportion and other countries always lowball casualties(Russian school deaths, tsunami deaths, etc.). Wouldn't surprise me when all is said and done that the figures don't reach into the hundreds of thousand dead. I watch Wild on on the E channel and foreign beaches are always jammed pack compared to our own. We encourage aid and relief efforts whereas other countries want to handle their own mess. Is this because other countries feel shame to bad mouth the USA and then accept their help? Maybe because it shows how irresponsible the govt. is in allowing such a calamity when it could of been avoided with a little bit of technology spending. At any rate it pisses me off that when other countries have problems we're in the "how can we help mode" and when we have problems its "you got what you deserve" attitude.

    • I'll donate another $1000 to the war effort if we attack France.

    • great idea but it wont fly...this guy is so embued with himself...the show (for that is all it is coz no substance) will go on...

its about 3 million every time he flies out to his texas ranch...about 12 times a year = equivalent to USA contribution to the tsunami relief effort...points for thought...

    • well at least you learn and are intelligent and flexible enough to change your opinion...remember: we didnt always agree while war preparations against iraq took place and even less after combat got under way...but better late than never...

as a side remark: my subscription renewal to TIME comes up in january: it will NOT be renewed...
as to flight 93 there was never any doubt...one must wonder why this time around the investigative press didnt do its job...

    • maybe(but completley unlikley) the Bush administration could take the $55million donated for the inauguration and offer it up as relief, I mean, if you are going to back the big Bush gala in his victory, then no donor should have any qualms with this idea. Since we have the war on terror, and the less remembered war on drugs,a party for the elected or re-elected president seems grotesque in light of these and other events. And as usual in keeping with my forecast, VSH a strong buy, and buy, and buy some more if you can. I still see a roller coaster ride ahead, but mostly an upward trend. Inventories still way too high.

    • Mon ami, before you can drive any camels you're going to have to round up a few. We'll know you've done that when you get off the "illegal war" kick. Not until then.

    • You want to know my opinion about what is going on in the world CDP?

But there are some very wealthy Europeans, Asians, Russians, etc. in the world that are all involved in this serious mess.

    • Good to see France finally stepping up.

    • congatulations on your generosity...not bad for a <poor tipper> (what type of restaurant still lets you in if you tip 3.5 dollars ?)...
but not surprisingly, after lecturing and doing the math you forget conveniently to admit your totally false and misguided statements...it was you who said: USA 12 cents and EU 10 cents, no ?...when france alone is already above 50 cents...

also, congratulations again: you just donated about 5 pct of the amount which you, as a US taxpayer, contributed to the war in iraq...a really worthwhile effort, no ? just about killed the same amount of people (just as innocent as the tsunami dead) including brave american soldiers (but not from your "class")...

    • When all is said and done individual donations will be massive..Bill Gates and his wife donated three million, PFE two million in medical supplies plus another two million in cash..JNJ ,GE and many more are making a million + donations..When national disasters like this happen Americans are very good at opening their wallets...
