    explanation for BDI collapse

Take this with a grain of salt because it comes from Cramer. He says China has stopped buying commodities for now but does not know why.

Makes no predictions about when buying will resume or how strong the rebound will be.

That explains the BDI. NM's 15% fall remains a mystery at least to the extent that it was so huge.

    • china wants to reprice steel contracts,

    • jug-help me with this-does the bdi reflect current rates/future rates? NM appears to have 13 ships with charters expiring within 12 months, several listed on order, and many with long term contracts in place. Main products shipped- grain, coal, iron ore. The collapse of these stocks seem to reflect a huge demand reduction for these products and subsequently, rates. I am a novice and long a very small position in an roth ira. Appreciate information and opinion. thanks
