As far as I am concerned, NM is not a bastard child. I bought NM yesterday.
On 12/15 I purchased EGLE (my first shipping stock) at $7.24 and sold it at a profit the following day. I immediatly looked at DRYS trading at 11.10 and decided to make my first purchase of NM on 12/16 at $3.20. Since then I’ve profitably traded NM more than 10 times. Today after looking through my quotes I saw some interesting figures and decided that NM is definitely a winner.
EGLE that I bought on 12/15 at 7.24 at this minute is trading at 4.89, DRYS is at 5.81, and NM is at 4.70.
No---I did not make 48.875% on the total of my Navios trades.
My funds are limited. Selling NM increased my liquidity and allowed me to jump in and out of other stocks. I did pretty good for someone that had neither followed or traded a stock for 11 years...Up a bit more than 33% after subtracting a major loss on a stock that I bought the same day that I made my 1st NM purchase.
In all honesty, I don't know how long I'll stick around...but...If I had deeper pockets I'd definitely go long term with NM. Not only does owning it earn me money...Their capable management makes me feel good.
