    Billions overpaid for this company?

Seems like the book value of the company is under 9 per share. They are paying nearly 10 times per share book value. Seems like billions per share overvalued and I wonder how may decades it will take to make this up! Thoughts?

    • I am still waiting for someone to tell me where CVS is getting the $4.2 Billion to pay the special $7.50 per share dividend to CMX shareholders upon deal Closing next week. Does anyone have an answer, please ?

      • In the last few years they bought Eckerds & Save-on Osco stores & financed it through commercial paper and long term and short term debt. Also I believe Caremark had quite a bit of cash in their balance sheet which they now have available to caremark cvs. In my opinion due to the increased cash flow of the combined company I believe that the debt of this new company will be paid off significantly faster. One of the reasons that the transaction was consumated was to pay off the debt faster. Some people on this message board maintained that cvs was immobilized because of their debt. And then of course this merger of equals transaction which was the only way for cvs to complete the transaction at this time. Proved a lot of posters wrong that cvs was "immobilized". Now is the time to get to work.
