My wife and I usually borrow movies for free from the local libraries. One library lets you borrow as many movies as you like for a weeks time. The late fee is $2 per movie per day. Of course, one drawback is that movies have to be out a while before they reach the library. I feel obligated to say that I am short NFLX.
Now you're up my alley. I am a former library trustee and I actually had occasion to calculate the average cost per home of the local public library. We were trying to figure out how much to charge out of towners for a library card. Many of the small towns around us do not have a decent library and our town is the site for the local regional high school.
Anyway, we ended up at just about $27 per average valued home in a high property tax state.
