"You're just a living example of the stupidity of republicans. "
No, I'm a living example of successful republicans that are self-made and can take care of themselves without government nannies and handouts.
I think you should change your name to barbara streisand.
So, georgHERbet, who is the intelligent man you are referring to? Al Gore? Didn't he invent netflix?
Anybody that believes we'd be better off with Gore is crazy. The only people who liked Gore are people that are dependent on the government to take care of them (you know, tax the successful people to pay the lazy people).
The current results of the 2000 election fiasco in Florida might have fared a bit better if we had a constitutional amandment as follows:
In the event that the result of the national election for President of the United States is uncertain for any reason, it shall be the duty of the U.S. Supreme Court to determine by their vote the person who should be the U.S. President, but only for the period of one year following the year of the election.
A new national election for President shall be held not later than 1 year after the Supreme Court's presidential appointment.
DANG we got ourselves Ignored! But it was fun anyway--more fun than the endless VOD drivel.
Let's agree to no more replies to those W-boobs, they'll realize their error eventually.
*PROTECTS* the smaller states from being outweighed by the larger ones
The number of members from each state in House of Rep ALREADY DOES THAT, for issues of state interest.
What the electoral college ACTUALLY does is MAKE MY VOTE IRRELEVENT. E.G. I lived in Virginia and my (usually democratic) vote was swamped by that hugely republican state. I move to DC and the Dems can carry DC's one electoral vote easily, without me.
I'd like my vote to actually count. THEN we'd have a democracy and higher voter turnout.
